Cacao
This cacao is not your everyday chocolate milk from the supermarket. Cacao has been used ceremonially for centuries.
Most of the knowledge about traditional ceremonies of indigenous cultures such as the Mayans and Aztecs has been lost. Here in the Western world, we have given our own twist to make it more accessible and better connect with it.
The ceremonies of today are a mix of different practices with different cultural backgrounds.
During a ceremony, cacao is used to turn inward, open your heart, discover patterns, cultivate self-love, increase awareness, and support you on your path towards more personal growth.
Your intention is important. It's said that the tribes used to whisper their intention into their cup.
Cacao works as a strong catalyst during healing work, and that's why I like to use it during Reiki treatments.
A dosage for ceremonial use is between 40 and 45 grams in 150ml of 70°C water.
Cacao has a special effect on your body and mind. It helps you focus better and gives your energy a boost.
Now you may be thinking, "But doesn't coffee do that too?"
Correct, but cacao doesn't give you an "after crash" like the caffeine in coffee does.
Cacao contains theobromine, which provides a longer and softer energy flow.
Cacao is high in antioxidants, minerals such as magnesium, healthy fats, and enhances the absorption of nutrients.
To get into this nice energy flow, focus more or trigger my creativity, I drink a cup of cacao daily.
I connect with the spirit of cacao when I'm going to do yoga, meditation or journalling.
Would you like to experience this in a ceremonial setting?
Then come to a New or Full Moon Circle or book a Reiki session in combination with cacao!🌙
